.ES domains free to register for everyone

The Spanish registry for domains NIC.ES has announced to change the register conditions for .ES domains.


It is therefore planned that .es-domains may be registered by everyone starting November 8th, 2005. This includes companies and private people who do not live in Spain who may register one or more .es Domains.

The Nic.es is going to assign these domains according to the principle "First come - first serve" which means that those who register a domain first will get them. A sunrise-period in which companies are entitled to certain domains will not happen.

The new prices for .es domains are currently not available, but will be cheaper than the current ones because the amount of work for the registration will not be as high.

As soon as we have received the new conditions from NIC.es, we will certainly inform our customers about that.
